💫 Overview

You know you are the best at what you do. Your results are undeniable. And yet, somehow, you keep finding yourself over-explaining your prices to people who do not get you, taking on referrals that drain you, and quietly auditioning for clients who should be honored to work with you. If your calendar is full but your business does not feel like it is in your control, this episode is for you.

The Problem

Most women entrepreneurs I coach are not stuck because they are not talented. They are stuck because the market sees them as one of many. That is the Commodity Trap, and it is the reason you are working twice as hard to sell, fearing the word “no,” and piling on bonuses to justify what you should already be charging with conviction.

Here is the hard truth: being “available to everyone” is not a growth strategy. It is a slow-motion crash. When your messaging is trying to catch everyone, it is resonating with no one. Right-fit clients — the ones who pay on time, respect your boundaries, and actually implement your advice — are not looking for a generalist. They are looking for a specialist with authority who solves their specific, expensive problem with surgical precision.

This is true in every service-based field. Healthcare, law, consulting, design, coaching, agencies, local businesses. The market rewards clarity everywhere. This is not about having the most exciting industry. It is about being unmistakably valuable inside the industry you are already in.

The QueenMode Perspective

In this episode, I introduce the Authority Positioning Protocol — a 3-step system I built to help women entrepreneurs stop performing for the wrong audience and start leading from the throne. The steps are simple to name and powerful to execute: Narrow, Elevate, and Assert.

I want you to understand something I had to learn the hard way in my own orthodontic practice. I thought my authority came from my qualifications — being board-certified, teaching at Oregon Health and Science University, my engineering degree, my published research. All of that mattered. All of that was real. But it made me credible, not the obvious choice. Market authority is something different. It comes from clarity about the specific, high-value problem you solve and the specific kind of client you solve it for.

Step one is to Narrow to your Power Core — the intersection of your greatest skill and the market’s most expensive problem. This is where the Strategic No lives. I share the moment I eliminated aligners from my practice cold turkey, even though they represented 15% of my revenue, and why my practice grew that year anyway. Step two is to Elevate every touchpoint of your business — your website, your Instagram, your onboarding, the way you show up on Zoom — so that “premium” is engineered, not implied. And step three is to Assert. The Certainty Factor is real: in any room, the woman with the most conviction leads. You stop hoping clients sign and start observing whether they are a fit for your high-level ecosystem.

This is the move from being a replaceable service provider to becoming a category of one — from Hustle-to-Sell to Authority-to-Attract.

Key Takeaways

  • Credentials make you credible. Clarity makes you the obvious choice. Market authority is engineered through positioning, not earned through qualifications alone.
  • The Commodity Trap forces you to compete on price. The Authority shift puts your reputation to work as your most valuable business asset.
  • Vague is not safer — vague is just slower. Positioning is not a prison; it is a strategic decision you refine as you learn.
  • Your Power Core is the intersection of your greatest skill and the market’s most expensive problem. Everything outside of it is a leak in your Customer Value Proposition.
  • Premium does not mean cold or arrogant. It means your access, your attention, and your expertise are structured with intention. You can be deeply caring and still have unmessable-with standards.
  • Some people will call your clarity arrogance simply because they preferred your confusion. Do not let someone else’s comfort become your strategy.

Powerful Quotes from This Episode

“Being ‘accessible’ is a commodity trait. Being ‘the obvious choice’ is an Authority trait.”
“Vague is not safer. Vague is just slower.”
“You don’t find your position; you take it. You don’t ask for authority; you assert it.”

Who This Episode Is For

This one is for the 6 or 7-figure woman CEO who is full but not in command — the founder whose calendar is packed with referrals she did not choose, whose pricing is being questioned by people who should never have made it to a sales call, and who is ready to stop performing for the wrong audience and start leading from the throne.
